PRStreet Honored by RPRS with Two Sir Walter Raleigh Awards

Cary Firm Awarded Gold & Silver in Statewide Competition

(Cary, NC) June 27, 2007 – PRStreet, Inc., a full-service marketing and public relations agency, has added two more prestigious awards to its list of achievements.  The firm has been awarded both a gold and silver Sir Walter Raleigh Award from the Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS). The awards were presented at the RPRS annual awards banquet at the RBC Center in Raleigh.

“Each year we compete against firms from across North Carolina, but there is something special about the work of PRStreet being recognized by the RPRS,” said Graham H. Wilson founder and president of PRStreet, Inc. “To be recognized by a group of our peers in the public relations industry is truly a privilege.”

PRStreet’s gold award-winning entry in the Total Communications/Community Relations Campaign was its 2006 campaign for Brown-Wynne Funeral Homes and the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall. The entry, entitled “Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, Veteran’s Day 2006,” was a community relations program designed to publicize the three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington, DC which was brought to Raleigh over Veteran’s Day weekend in 2006. The campaign included working with organizers during the arrival of the Wall from Charlotte to be held at a time that would generate media interest.  The truck carrying the Wall was escorted by more than 200 motorcyclists consisting of veterans and law enforcement officials and was covered by are media outlets. PRStreet also worked with the local print, television and radio coverage that identified the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall in order to inform the public about the arrival and display of the replica. The result was the most successful amount of visitors to any city on the tour. Many of the 18,000 visitors may never have the opportunity to visit the actual Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, which made the large turnout even more important.

PRStreet’s silver award-winning entry in the Publications category was its newly revamped company newsletter, “STREETALK.” The entry, entitled “Streetalk: News from the Fast Lane,” highlighted the PRStreet newsletter which has recently been updated in order to illustrate the work of the agency and to showcase the unique approach it offers to clients through unique events and campaigns. Using a creative theme, “News from the Fast Lane,” PRStreet is able to tie into the over arching theme of the agency, “Marketing Strategies for the Fast Lane.” The result is a newsletter that is more informative as well as entertaining.

The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards are the oldest awards recognizing North Carolina’s public relations industry. The RPRS was founded in 1959.
